    Great article on tipping. In Japan, tipping in restaurants is absolutely not accepted. In fact on one occasion when one of our party had left a tip out of habit, we were already at the bus stop when our waiter came running out in search of us in order to return the offending tip. And restaurant service and care was always unfailingly excellent. Then again, hospitality is an integrated part of Japanese culture, service and courtesy is built into everything they do. It’s not paid separately for, it’s built into the price.

      That’s fascinating about Japan. Interestingly, tipping is almost unheard of in Australia too.
